The Hodiernal Quartet is The Hague's new string quartet comprised of Belemir Baran (violin), Orestis Willemen (guitars), Alfian Adytia (cello), and Cody Takács (electric and double bass). Founded in 2016 in Den Haag (NL), the quartet is devoted to performing works written solely by living composers including original compositions of their own. In 2018, they were invited to perform as part of the opening ceremony for the Spring Festival at Het Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag. Thus far, they have worked with young composers including David Azaglo, Ivan Babinchak, Lauge Dideriksen, Emil Tan Erten, Paolo Griffin, Lise Morrison, Berk Özdemir, and Aino Tenkanen. Whether they perform traditional or graphic scores, fixed or improvized music, acoustic or amplified, or multi-media works, the Hodiernal Quartet is sure to bring an exciting and engaging performance that is not to be missed!
